War, Statecraft and Strategy

The multidisciplinary minor in War, Statecraft and Strategy (WSS) offers practical and theoretical understanding of intelligence, diplomacy, international relations, military strategy, defense policy, homeland security, conflict resolution and the related tools of statecraft to national defense policy formulation and power projection. This minor is ideal for students interested in the complex interplay between history, politics, defense, economics, technology and strategic decision-making.

Curriculum

The WSS minor requires both Intellectual Foundations courses and Breadth of Exposure courses. Grand Strategy I and Grand Strategy II provide an intellectual foundation for the minor and other selected courses lend a breadth of exposure. Combined, these courses provide students with opportunities to explore the interconnected histories of war, statecraft, and strategy.
